roux’s bend sits right on the west fork of the little river. one of the cleanest and prettiest rivers east of the mississippi. with a private dock designed for relaxing summer days and stargazing nights and floor to ceiling windows, you will feel your whole nervous system calm.

Whether you swim in the refreshing and clean Little River just a short walk down old stone steps through rhododendron and mountain laurel or you soak in the cedar hot tub, you will be sure to feel the relaxation.
the only channel we have is nature.
Designed to intentionally help us unplug from our devices, there are no TV’s in the cabin. We encourage you to connect with the surrounding nature, read a book, go on a hike. Of course we do have fast internet.

The Cabin sits a half mile up the Little River from Desoto State Park. A short canoe paddle to the park leads you to a breathtaking view of Desoto falls (see more on Experiences page). 3 miles to the quaint downtown of Mentone where there are antique stores, a general store for all your needs and more, and a few good restaurants. Go to brow park for a breathtaking view off the Look Out Mountain Plateau.

In the town of Mentone (3 miles from the cabin) there are a few great restaurants. Our favorite is Elevation Bistro. Wildflower Cafe is also great. For quick food, the Mentone Market has grab and go sandwiches and salads (great for packing a hike or picnic) or order some pizza and grab a drink!

The Tri-State Corner which makes up Northeastern Alabama, Northwestern Georgia and Tennessee is known for its natural beauty. Mentone Alabama is on top of Lookout Mountain which is a plateau that spans these three states and has an elevation of around 1,800 feet. The mountain is known for its beautiful views, pristine Little River, and the gorgeous waterfalls that cascade into deep blue pools. For those who enjoy the outdoors, there is something for everyone here and this part of the country is a hidden gem. Check out this Southern Living article for some great recommendations.
The cabin has four bedrooms and three bathrooms. the primary suite is on the main floor with floor to ceiling windows, a walk in shower, custom mexican tile, and floating soaking tub. downstairs “the Den” has three bedrooms with two queen beds and one king bed with a shared tiled bathroom. An additional full bathroom with a soaking tub and washer and dryer on the main floor makes it comfortable for everyone.

Each room is thoughtfully designed, with top quality linens and bathrooms throughout the house with custom tile and deep soaking tubs, stocked with high quality chemical free soaps.
